A nail strengthening system that works from within

Over the past few weeks I have been doing weekly nail treatments to try and strengthen my nails from within. IBX is a nail treatment process that has recently launched and to say that I’m impressed is an understatement. Having to test loads of polishes, gel systems and new products you can imaging what my nails would look like without proper care. With the launch of this treatment that happens in stages, I have after every single treatment (I went for four) seen a improvement in the state of my nails. Documenting my progress in the four pictures below, you can clearly see in the top left hand picture how uneven and spotty my nail beds were when I started with the course. The bottom right hand side picture was last week before I had my last treatment done and as you can see, no more white spots on my nails and the general health of my nails are 10 times better. In the spirit of being honest I applied no filter on the pictures, no editing was done and no buffing or filing, so you can see the proper results as I went for my sessions.

So what exactly is IBX that has people talking about this revolutionary new course the way they are? In a nutshell, it protects your nails under polish and even gel and it grows your natural nail while strengthening it. Being the very first treatment of it’s kind, it penetrates into the nail instead of superficially working on the top of the nail bed. It is applied like a polish but held under a normal lamp bulb (for heat) penetrates into the nail plate. The unique Interpenetrating Polymer Network (IPN) fuses the uneven layers of the nail together to make it stronger and healthier. No need to remove, it becomes part of your natural nail and cannot be seen. The only thing you’ll see is healthier natural nails after a few treatments, depending on how bad your nails are looking. If you’re someone who does gel nails a lot or wears polish all the time, this is the perfect insurance policy against having to apply and remove all the time.

Top left is the state of my nails when I started IBX. Bottom right is before my last treatment.

The first step is applying the protective shield. It helps remove white spots from nails and acts as the fusion layer. The second step is applying the actual IBX Repair product. Splits, peeling and spots are all addressed in this step that acts like double sided tape to seal damaged areas together. As mentioned it can be used as a nail growth treatment, under gel or nail polish and has had such amazing results on my nails that I can fully recommend it.

Since it is a professional product, the best is to contact FOXBOX which is a mobile nail service that comes to your home. Alternatively you will find them in selected Woolworths stores to book and have your treatments done. You can expect to pay around R80 for a single treatment and R400 for a course of 6 treatments, which is what I’d recommend rather than one treatment.
